Campgrounds at Buttle Lake
Open, some snow on roads and campsites but many clear, not much wind debris. Lots of snow at the campground boat launch, 4 wheel drive would be advisable.
Darkis Lake trail mostly clear of snow and has very few windfalls.
Ralph River - Open, perimeter road has snow patches but 4 Wheel Drive is not required; the across campground roads have deeper snow and some windfalls. There are plenty of sites free or almost free of snow.
The Buttle Lake boat launch and the one at Karst Creek are clear of snow. Both sites had people camping today. (Apr. 7)
Trails Off Highway 28
Crest Crags - Deep snow on access road and parking/picnic area. Parking not permitted on highway and little space is safely available.
Crest Lake Picnic Area - Deep snow on access road and parking/picnic area. Parking not permitted on highway and little space is safely available.
Crest Mountain Trail - Parking area clear, trail snow covered from start and has not been checked for windfalls or washouts.
Elk River Trail - Deep snow and snow bank at access, parking area has lots of snow. Parking not permitted on highway and little space is safely available. Trail snow covered and has not been checked for windfalls or washouts.
Elk River View Trail - Deep snow and snow bank at access; parking area has lots of snow but room to pull off the road at entrance.
Lady Falls trail - Deep snow and snow bank at access, parking area has lots of snow. Possible with care to park on highway. Trail snow covered and has not been checked for windfalls.
Off Western Mine Road
Lupin Falls Trail- Parking lot and trail clear of snow and windfalls.
Auger Point Trail - Parking lot and trail clear of snow and windfalls.
Karst Creek Trail - No access due to extreme windfall situation. Parking area and picnic tables clear of snow and windfalls as is the boat ramp.
Shepherd Creek and Wild Ginger Trails - Parking area clear of snow. There appears to be some snow areas on trail; these trails not yet checked for windfalls.
Flower Ridge Trail - Parking area clear of snow. The snow starts at trail entrance; this trail not yet checked for windfalls.
Price Creek Trail - Parking area and access clear of snow. The snow start at the beginning but there appears to be some clear patches under the trees, this trail not checked for windfalls.
Bedwell Lake Trail - No access to trail head and parking: Jim Mitchell Lake road ploughed only for about two kilometres.
Lower Myra Falls Trail - Access road and parking area cleared; trail snow covered; this trail not checked for windfalls. Note - Difficult to access outhouse.
Phillips Ridge Trail - Difficult to access due to very high snowbank off road. Trail snow covered; this trail not checked for windfalls.
Upper Myra Falls Trail - Difficult to access due to very high snowbank off road. Trail snow covered; this trail not checked for windfalls.
Tennent Lake Trail/Mount Myra - Difficult to access due to very high snowbank off road. Trail snow covered; this trail not checked for windfalls. Note - Parking area at end of road only partially cleared, so small. Mine road gate is locked.
